MSSC President

Chady Sarraf, MD, MHCL, SFHM is a board-certified internal medicine physician and hospitalist based in Wichita, Kansas. He is a Senior Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine and serves on both its national committees and the Kansas Advisory Board. Dr. Sarraf is the past president and co-founder of the International Lebanese Medical Association–USA, reflecting his long-standing commitment to physician leadership and global medical collaboration.  Since 2012, Dr. Sarraf has practiced at Ascension Via Christi in Wichita, where he has held multiple leadership roles, including Vice Chair of Medicine and Chair of the Hospitalist Department. He has also served on Ascension’s National Stewardship Committee and currently functions as Medical Director for his group with Sound Physicians. Dr. Sarraf earned his medical degree from the Lebanese University Faculty of Medicine in 2005 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Seton Hall University/Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey, in 2009. He later completed a Master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership at Friends University. He considers it a privilege to advocate for physicians across his community and throughout the state of Kansas.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Sarraf enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his wife, Dr. Jihane Sfeir, and their three children.

MSSC Executive Director

Phillip Brownlee became the MSSC executive director in May 2017. He worked for 21 years at The Wichita Eagle, including 16 years as editorial page editor. During his tenure at The Eagle, Phillip and the editorial board won numerous journalism awards, including the Kansas Public Health Association service award. Phillip also worked previously as a certified public accountant in Dallas and as public information director. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Sterling College and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
